【摘要】:Thistestmethodissufficientlyaccurateforusualpurposes,suchasadjustingbatchquantitiesofingredientsforconcrete.Itwillgenerallymeasurethemoistureinthetestsamplemorereliablythanthesamplecanbemadetorepresenttheaggregatesupply.Incaseswheretheaggregateitselfisalteredbyheat,orwheremorerefinedmeasurementisrequired,thetestshouldbeconductedusingaventilated,controlledtemperatureoven.Largeparticlesofcoarseaggregate,especiallythoselargerthan50mm(2in.),willrequiregreatertimeforthemoisturetotravelfromtheinterioroftheparticletothesurface.Theuserofthistestmethodshoulddeterminebytrialifrapiddryingmethodsprovidesufficientaccuracyfortheintendedusewhendryinglargesizeparticles.1.1Thistestmethodcoversthedeterminationofthepercentageofevaporablemoistureinasampleofaggregatebydrying,bothsurfacemoistureandmoistureintheporesoftheaggregate.Someaggregatemaycontainwaterthatischemicallycombinedwiththemineralsintheaggregate.Suchwaterisnotevaporableandisnotincludedinthepercentagedeterminedbythistestmethod.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesstatedinparenthesesareprovidedforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Forspecificprecautionarystatements,see5.3.1,7.2.1,and7.3.1.
