【摘要】:Thisclausepresentsthescope,purpose,organization,andcandidateusesofthisInternationalStandard.ThisInternationalStandardsupportstheinterestofsoftwareusersinconsistent,complete,accurate,andusabledocumentation.Itincludesbothapproachestostandardization:a)processstandards,whichspecifythewayinwhichdocumentationproductsaretobedeveloped;andb)documentationproductstandards,whichspecifythecharacteristicsandfunctionalrequirementsofthedocumentation.ThefirstpartofthisInternationalStandardcoverstheuserdocumentationprocessfordesignersanddevelopersofdocumentation.Itdescribeshowtoestablishwhatinformationusersneed,howtodeterminethewayinwhichthatinformationshouldbepresentedtotheusers,andhowtopreparetheinformationandmakeitavailable.Itisnotlimitedtothedesignanddevelopmentphaseofthelifecycle,butincludesactivitiesthroughouttheinformationmanagementanddocumentationprocesses.ThesecondpartofthisInternationalStandardprovidesminimumrequirementsforthestructure,informationcontent,andformatofuserdocumentation,includingbothprintedandon-screendocumentsusedintheworkenvironmentbyusersofsystemscontainingsoftware.Itappliestoprintedusermanuals,onlinehelp,tutorials,anduserreferencedocumentation.ThisInternationalStandardneitherencouragesnordiscouragestheuseofeitherprintedorelectronic(on-screen)mediafordocumentation,orofparticulardocumentationdevelopmentormanagementtoolsormethodologies.ThisInternationalStandardmaybehelpfulfordevelopingthefollowingtypesofdocumentation,althoughitdoesnotcoverallaspectsofthem:~documentationofproductsotherthansoftware;~multimediasystemsusinganimation,video,andsound;~computer-basedtraining(CBT)packagesandspecializedcoursematerialsintendedprimarilyforuseinformaltrainingprograms;~documentationproducedforinstallers,computeroperators,orsystemadministratorswhoarenotendusers;~maintenancedocumentationdescribingtheinternaloperationofsystemssoftware;~documentationincorporatedintotheuserinterfaceitself.specialists:~informationdesignersandarchitectswhoplanthestructureandformatofdocumentationproductsinadocumentationset;~usabilityspecialistsandbusinessanalystswhoidentifythetasksthattheintendeduserswdlperformwiththesoftware:~thosewhodevelopandeditthewrittencontentforuserdocumentation;~graphicdesignerswithexpertiseinelectronicmedia;~userinterfacedesignersandergonomicsexpertsworkingtogethertodesignthepresentationofthedocumentationonthescreen.ThisInternationalStandardmayalsobeconsultedbythosewithotherrolesandinterestsinthedocumentationprocess:~managersofthesoftwaredevelopmentprocessorthedocumentationprocess;~acquirersofdocumentationpreparedbysuppliers;~usabilitytesters,documentationreviewers,subject-matterexperts;~developersoftoolsforcreatingon-screendocumentation;~human-factorsexpertswhoidentifyprinciplesformakingdocumentationmoreaccessibleandeasilyused.ThisInternationalStandardisintendedforuseinalltypesoforganizations,whetherornotadedicateddocumentationdepartmentispresent,andmaybeusedasabasisforlocalstandardsandprocedures.Readersareassumedtohaveexperienceorknowledgeofsoftwaredevelopmentordocumentationdevelopmentprocesses.UsersofthisInternationalStandardshouldadoptastylemanualforusewithintheirownorganizationstocomplementtheguidanceprovidedintheannexestothisInternationalStandard,oradoptanindustry-recognizedstyleguide.AnnexAprovidesguidanceforthecontentofastyleguide,andAnnexesBandCprovideguidanceonstyle.
