【摘要】:1.1Thisconsumersafetyspecificationcoversperformancerequirements,testmethods,andlevelsofperformancetoensuresatisfactoryfunctioningofthegrabbarsandaccessoryitems(notincludingplumbingcontrols)duringreasonableusetoassistapersonentering,leaving,ormovingwithinthebathingarea.1.2Thisconsumersafetyspecificationisintendedtoreducethenumberofaccidentsbyspecifyingrequirementsforgrabbarsandaccessoriesdesignedtodecreasetheprobabilityofslipsandfalls.1.3Thisconsumersafetyspecificationdoesnotaddressthespecificneedofgangshowers,islandtubs,peninsulatubs,sunkentubs,ortubs6ft(1.8m)orlonger.1.4Thisconsumersafetyspecificationexemptsshowerstallswithbothinteriordimensionsof34in.(864mm)orless.1.5Thevaluesstatedininch-poundunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.ThevaluesgiveninparenthesesaremathematicalconversionstoSIunitsthatareprovidedforinformationonlyandarenotconsideredstandard.1.6Thefollowingprecautionarycaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodportion,Section7,ofthisspecification.Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyproblems,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
